Fall in the Blue Ridge mountains is beautiful and elusive – the varying altitudes mean that you are constantly chasing the fall colors as they make their way from the higher altitudes to the lower ones.

Another phenomenal trip with the crew over at WNC Photo – J. and Matt are excellent guides and teachers. If your nearby Asheville, or just want to go on one of their destination tours, you will not be disappointed.

In October 2022 I was able to attend a destination landscape workshop in Crested Butte, CO put on by J over at Asheville, NC based https://www.wncphototours.com. While J lives in Asheville, he is a native of Colorado and spends enough time in both places to know the terrain well and has mapped out some of the best spots to capture amazing views. We were lucky enough to have tons of “atmosphere” – with a few late night/early morning snow flurries and partly cloudy skies with the sun finding its way to show off through the clouds made for some amazing scenes.
